From a humble railway arch in Battersea to a thriving gym in Parsons Green, Guts & Glory has grown alongside its incredible community and the rise of fitness racing events like HYROX.

We caught up with the owner, Joe, who shared the inspiring journey behind the gym and how Wolverson’s exceptional equipment and support helped create a space where fitness dreams come to life—every rep, every race, every step of the way.

Can you share the journey behind Guts & Glory?

The gym began six years ago in a small railway arch in Battersea, offering a unique blend between a CrossFit and an F45-style gym. It was designed to cater to all fitness levels, with classes tailored to diverse needs and goals. Over time, a fantastic residential community blossomed, especially during COVID and beyond.

How has the growth of HYROX and other fitness racing events influenced the way you run your gym?

This support and structure gave us the confidence to expand, leading to the opening of a much larger gym across the river in Parsons Green, Fulham. This coincided with the rapid rise of HYROX 18 months ago, and we became an affiliate right away. We continued running the same classes as in Battersea, while adding HYROX-specific sessions to the schedule.

What equipment did you choose and what inspired your choices?

When opening the gym, we prioritised securing the best equipment at a reasonable price. It was vital to work with a reliable, respected supplier that values quality and functionality. Wolverson delivered all this and more. Their support in helping us get what we needed within budget was professional, fair, and exceptional. Any challenges were quickly resolved, and their customer service was outstanding—easy to contact and fully knowledgeable about their products. They also provided excellent technical support, which was invaluable when we were scrambling to make a squat rack fit!

How has Wolverson's equipment impacted your fitness journey?

We couldn’t be happier with Wolverson, and if we expand again, they will undoubtedly be our first choice to support us on our next journey.
