What is a HTCx?
A HYROX Training Club X (HTCx) is the only certified in-club environment officially recognized for HYROX preparation. HTCx offers a complete HYROX training solution, combining official movement standards, competition equipment, race flow, and daily progressive programming. It features a dedicated HYROX Training Zone (HTZ) equipped with Centr x HYROX Official Competition Equipment, allowing athletes to train exactly as they would race.

Yes! There is no exclusivity rights in the UK for opening a HTCx.
The minimum space requirement for the smallest HTCx class size (16 athletes) is approximately 2,147 sq ft (≈ 199.5 m²).
- Minimum Length: 19 m (≈ 62.34 ft).
- Minimum Width: 10.5 m (≈ 34.45 ft).
Key Layout Details for Minimum Space
- Configuration: These dimensions allow for a 4-lane setup using the Centr Perform Tread.
- Capacity: This setup is designed for a 16-person capacity.
- Recommendation: While 2,147 sq ft is the absolute minimum, the toolkit recommends 3,276 sq ft (≈ 304.5 m²) for the 16-person class to ensure an optimal layout and user experience. +2

- 16-Athlete Capacity: Requires a minimum area of approximately 2,147 sq ft (199.5 m²), though 3,276 sq ft (304.5 m²) is recommended for an optimal experience. This setup uses a 4-lane turf configuration.
- 24-Athlete Capacity: Recommended to have a space of at least 3,760 sq ft (349.3 m²). This setup uses a 6-lane turf configuration.
- 32-Athlete Capacity: Recommended to have a space of at least 4,950 sq ft (459.9 m²). This setup uses an 8-lane turf configuration.
Each capacity level comes with a standardized equipment package (including specific numbers of treads, rowers, sleds, and weights) to ensure every athlete in the class can "train like they race" .
- Space and Layout Validation. The first step toward official HTCx approval is completing the Layout Checklist to ensure your space meets "non-negotiable" standards.
- Equipment Procurement - Facilities must be equipped with Official Centr x HYROX Competition Equipment to provide a race-standard environment.
- Staff Enablement and Education - The "Enablement" phase prepares the facility's team to run the program effectively: Workshops: Coaches attend Fundamentals workshops to learn the methodology and best practices.
- Digital Integration - Operators must implement the Performance Hub 2.0, which is the digital engine for the club. It manages:
- Marketing and Launch - Once validated, the facility receives Premium Branding Assets and marketing support to drive membership.
- There is a no specific timeline for opening a HTCx, time will depend on if your location is suitable for a HTCx. Once your location and design is approved by HYROX, we can work with you to get your equipment installed within a specific timeframe.
We appreciate that great spaces can be hard to find, we can work with you to design the HTCx layout that fits within your space, however there are some non-negotiable requirements:
Equipment Positioning
- Rowers, Ski Ergs and runners must be positioned along the length (long side) of the turf.
- Runners, Skiergs, rowers must remain grouped by category and should not be split up (ie: All SkiErgs together, all rowers together and all running machines together)
Ideally, SkiErgs and rowers should be positioned on the opposite long side of the turf from the runners. If space constraints prevent this, they may be placed on the same side as the runners, with the SkiErgs and rowers split between opposite sides as needed (e.g., runners and SkiErgs on one side, rowers on the other, or vice versa)
Minimum Spacing Requirements
- From turf to runner (rear clearance): a minimum clearance of 3.2 ft / 1 m must be maintained.
- From turf to SkiErg (rear clearance): a minimum clearance of 3.2 ft / 1 m must be maintained.
- From turf to rower (rear clearance): a minimum clearance of 3.2 ft / 1 m must be maintained.
- Between rowers: a minimum spacing of 6 ft / 1.8 m between each unit must be maintained.
Coach Visibility (360°)
When standing at the center of the turf, the coach must have clear, unobstructed visibility of all stations, including:
- runners
- wall ball targets
- ski ergs
- any floor space used for group exercise or functional training
There must be no blind spots.
Turf Specifications
- The setup must use 4-lane, 6-lane, or 8-lane HTZ Turf.
- No adjustments to the turf length are permitted.
Wall Balls targets
- Wall ball targets must be positioned at the end of the turf.
- A minimum clearance of 6.5 ft / 2 m must be maintained between the end zone line and the wall ball targets.
- Wall ball targets must be set at the height 9 feet (2.7m) for women and 10 feet (3m)
Workout Display Screen
- A minimum of one screen must be installed to display the workout. This screen should be positioned so it is clearly visible during the pre-session athlete briefing (“huddle”).
