The Wolverson Olympic Bar - 20kg

I already had a 12.65 kg Olympic (training) bar from Argos, that is poorly made but does do the job. This bar, with its beautiful bronze bushings, is the full 20 kg with good room on both sleeves. Knurling is nowhere near as rough as what I had already on a bar I wanted a bigger brother to. The needle bearing set of four per sleeve gave the bar a very smooth movement up and down, smoother than anything I already had. Very affordable bar than would 2.5 times have proved a Gungnir barbell. Good downloadable instructions on maintenance and health of the bar over time.

This is the best bar I have used. Perfect for a home gym (or commercial) as the bar is solid with a 28mm diameter which helps in griping more weights compared to a 30mm bar.
The black shaft looks great with contrasting chrome collars and the knurling is on point.

In comparison to other products available at this price point, having used several at gyms and/or friends home gyms, for me this is easily the best quality!

The item arrived as described and was a fantastic bar. For the price, I would highly recommend this bar to any hobbyist weightlifter or gym looking to invest in an olypic weightlifting bar. The collars are bearing so spin independently of the bar and never had any issues with them whatsoever. The knurling is also excellent, not being too sharp but still providing decent grip, even when used in a rack the knurling isn't stripped unless you're grinding it aggressivly on the rack. The lack of center knurling also makes it a comfortable bar for a general hobbyist and the dual markings on the bar itself help in having a consisent grip on the bar. The bar also had a decent amount of whip, though not excessive, it was certainly noticable at weights over 120kg, making it an excellent choice for weightlifters. If cared for properly, this bar will certainly treat you well. Cannot recommend highly enough!
