Great bit of kit.
I’ve been training with maces, clubs and bells for a good few years now and was weary of getting an adjustable mace but I’m very happy that I finally did so.
The knurling isn't too aggressive, which I like. The casting of the plates is reasonably good. The alignment of the thread and the Allen bolt, which secures the bottom of the bell was a tiny bit off, but that’s very minor.
Overall the mace seems to be well made, it’s relatively easy to change weights. A second nut would be very helpful so that you don’t have to secure your places all the way at the bottom of the thread , and a 1kg plate would be a welcome addition.
This helps progression of your mace training, allowing you to approach it akin to Olympic barbell programming.
I had a bit of hassle getting the courier to deliver, he told me that it was too heavy, so none of the staff wanted to deliver it.
The plastic end cap, on the handle was also damaged in transit but the customer service team are currently sourcing a replacement.
I eventually received my new mace after a terrible experience with delivery, after I'd removed it from the box that was completely destroyed I had a look at the mace internals, I found the thread on the nut and shaft for the weight plates badly machined, I had considerable difficulty undoing the nut and replacing it, once I'd forced it back on and tightened it with the weight I wanted to start with, I found it great to swing the grip is gnarled further down the shaft . If I can live with the difficulty of using the securing nut it will last me years. I've bought several items from woolverson fitness this is a disappointment.
I always enjoy picking up a mace bell it makes for a fun workout. This adjustable mace is great for space saving, it's also quick and easy to change the weights depending on what exercise you want to do. One improvement I'd like to see would be to have the tail end match the individual mace bells that wolverson sell. I have a 4kg and. 5kg and they have a tapered
end/ hand stop rather than a straight handle which is found on the adjustable mace, however it still doesn't take away from the fact that the adjustable mace is great quality and a lot of fun.
